Perimeter – Our Morning Run Distance

Every morning we run or walk the perimeter of the school.

– What formal and informal measuring tools could we use to measure the perimeter of our school?

– How many metres would we run each week? Convert this to kilometres.

– If we ran everyday of the school year (200 days), how many metres would we run? Convert this to kilometres.

  1. The amount of metres that we run for the school run a day is 874 metres, which also means 0.874 kilometres. In a week we run 4,370 metres, or 4.370 kilometres. If we ran for the school run every school day, (200 days) then we would run 174,800 metres, but in kilometres, it’s 174.800 kilometres.
