  1. The starting gun was raised high up in the hot air, glistening in the bright sun light. The judge was ready to start the race. But the black gun didn’t go off and the race was held up. There were thousands of participants lined up at the starting line with nervous looks on their small faces. The smell of the boiling food was drifting through the air and wafting under my nose which was making me terribly hungry. The tropical sun was burning down on my tanned skin. The judge raised the gun for the second time. BANG!!! The simmering gun was as loud as an explosion in my next door neighbours house. Finally we can make a start. The long tiring marathon has just began.

  2. It was a dark gloomy night, where the creepy owls sit outside on a tree, angrily hooting as it impatiently waits for its fat juicy prey. Last week I had received some supplies with a large amount of black sharp crowbars. Finally we could make a start. We rapidly grabbed a crowbar each, as soon as the screws left, we started pounding the ground with absolute force.we had dug an astonishing three feet down. An old rusty door started to slowly open outside of our cell, it was an immense throng of screws checking on the smelly prisoners. They were all moaning to each other, whining about the raw sewage flowing into our mucky horrible cells. The smell of the sewage had smelt like I was born in a grotty rubbish dump and I was left there. I took one last powerful hit to the solid concrete ground. CRACK!!! A bright white light shone from the deep hole. We could hear that we had alerted the screws because they were walking towards our cell. Where we going to make it in time before the screws caught us.

The scores were: Geelong, 240 points to Richmond, 70 points. The best and fairest medal went to our courageous captain, Joel Selwood. After all the medals were handed out, , it was time to present the glistening trophy. Joel and our successful coach, Chris Scott swiftly ran up the stairs of the podium and each made a meaningful speech. The awe inspiring trophy is ours. They raised it high into the air. The crowd went crazy like a hungry pack of Rottweilers chasing after a massive truck full of raw meat.

  5. We’re down by 4 goals and it’s the last quarter of the game. Finally we can make a start. The deafening siren goes and our ruckman punches it out with great force. With possession of the ball we bomb it down the field and it goes through the goals. It’s amazing, only 3 goals to go. All of a sudden a huge fleet of green UFO’s flies out of the bright blue sky and attacks everyone. We’re at war but we have to finish our game. Everybody is in their positions again but one of the UFO’s shoots the ball. How are we going to finish?

During the bright sunny morning, we hop out of the boiling, hot car, getting ready to play the exiting final netball game. As soon as it sounded, I thought; finally we can make a start. I wildly stared at the finish line and frantically made my way towards it. I was VERY nervous, but also as energetic as a stampeding bull charging towards a bright red flag. I was slowly becoming tired and puffed. The scent of the freshly mowed grass filled my strong lungs, as I took GARGANTUAN, rapid steps toward my extremely lucky win.

I wonder what they are going to do on a bus are they going to be naughty are they going to behave on the big red bus. But finally we can make a start. As I cruise across the water in my massive boat I can smell the salt of the sea. I just noticed I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWERE!!! I feel so worried because I am out here all by myself. My feet feel wet. I look down and discover my boat has a hole in it. My day can’t possibly get any worse than it is now. Just as I say that there is a big black figure in the water. But luckily it swims away. Finally I can make a start to try and find land.
