Homework: Author Visit

On Thursday we had Glenda Millard visit our unit. Glenda Millard is a famous children’s author who has written some great stories. During the visit she talked lots about being a good author and what a good author should do.

For homework this week, you need to write 3 things that make a good author. Think carefully about what Glenda Millard said.

    You must do a draft before you make a story.
    You must have fall stops, paragraphs, comers and space.
    You need to have an author, date, illustrate and a heeding.

    To be a good author you have to have a good start to make other people want to read your book and keep going.

    Leave out some problems for the reader to think about don’t tell the reader everything that’s happening in the book.

    You also need to follow the writing process, and make changes to your book so that nothing is missing or changes you could’ve made before publishing.

    – Use real things also as your imagination.
    – Can always check to do a new draft.
    – Will always add more description if needed.
    – Adds to it as she goes.
